Biography
Rowena Hurst was born in Birmingham, England, spent two years in France and grew up in Rochester, New York. She graduated from SUNY Cortland with an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education and pursued graduate study at SUNY Albany.
Rowena teaches kindergarten and first grade at an elementary school in midtown Manhattan. Her private tutoring is tailored to each student. She uses assessments and feedback from families and classroom teachers to determine support needs and develop plans, while incorporating student interests to encourage engagement.
Rowena collaborates closely with teachers and communicates regularly with parents so school and home learning remain consistent. She values teamwork with the entire family and school team.
