Biography
Rachel Lugassy is a certified Speech and Language Pathologist holding a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), is licensed in the state of New York to conduct speech and language therapy, and holds a New York State Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Indiana University, followed by her masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Rachel has worked with students ages three to thirteen to develop their receptive and expressive language, written language, social communication, literacy, and articulation in both school and private practice settings. She specializes in utilizing multi-sensory approaches to support children in their phonological awareness, articulation, and phonology development. Rachel ensures collaboration and communication with families, teachers, and other specialists to provide comprehensive treatment.
